Zidoo introduced Roon Ready streaming to the Neo S and Neo X this month, marking their fifth and sixth products now in the Roon family.

The Neo S and Neo X bring spectacular versatility and capability as all-in-one streamers – and include unique video playback technology as well. A true one-stop solution for many systems.




Roon Partner Update: March 2022

We’ve been incredibly busy at Roon since the start of the year. 

In the first quarter of 2022, we welcomed over 40 new Roon Ready and Roon Tested devices from over 20 audio brands, including Arcam, Astell & Kern, Cyrus, McIntosh, NAD, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sonus Faber & more.

Astell&Kern ACRO CA1000
Roon Ready

We’re excited to introduce the ACRO CA1000, a very uniquely fashioned headphone amplifier combined with a Digital Audio Player to the Roon Ready family. 

The aforementioned headphone amp has up to 15Vrms of output on tap, while the DAP half of the ACRO CA1000 supports resolutions up to PCM 32bit/384kHz PCM and native DSD512. This purpose-built enclosure offers a truly no-compromise portable music listening experience.

Atoll Electronique MS120, SDA200 Signature, ST200 Signature and ST300 Signature
Roon Ready

Brand new to the Roon Ready family, we want to welcome the MS120, SDA200 Signature, ST200 Signature and ST300 Signature from Atoll Electronique. 

Each streamer, from the full-sized and full-featured ST300 Signature and ST200 Signature to the miniature MS120, offers resolution support up to PCM 24/192 and DSD128, and the same goes for the SDA200 Signature. 

Bringing support for a plethora of streaming services, from Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz to TIDAL, the options don’t stop there. Each device offers inputs in the form of analogue, coaxial, optical, Bluetooth, USB capability, in addition to LAN network connectivity. The case of the ST200 Signature and ST300 Signature, WiFi is also supported. 

AVM Evolution CS 3.3 and CS 5.3
Roon Ready

AVM welcomed their first Roon Ready devices to the partner family with the CS 3.3 and CS 5.3. 

These new integrated amplifiers bring Roon Ready streaming via the AVM X-Stream Engine®, which supports resolutions up to 32/384, and DSD256. This streaming engine is custom built by AVM, and is completely software-based for future-proofing. 

The amplifiers have much in common, and even feature the same stylish (and in the case of the CELLINI version, eye-catching chrome) enclosure. The CS 5.3 offers a unique integrated tube-based analogue stage, with custom circuitry designed in-house by AVM. Inputs include HDMI, network via LAN, bluetooth, phono, USB device and USB storage drive, analog (balanced and unbalanced), optical, coaxial, and even a CD drive. 

Cyrus Audio Pre-XR, i7-XR and i9-XR
Roon Tested

The Pre-XR features a hi-resolution display, machined chassis, and capacitive touch controls to the table, bringing ease of use to the forefront. On the listening side of things, Cyrus’ award-winning QXR DAC is coupled with an all-new analogue buffer stage, and this preamp offers unique support for power supply modularity. Inputs include unbalanced analog, MM phono, coaxial, optical and USB. 

The i7-XR and i9-XR each respectively take much of what the Pre-XR has to offer and integrate powerful and accurate amplification to the package. Featuring a 52 watts per channel (i7-XR) or 91 watts per channel (i9-XR), Cyrus has a listening solution for nearly any pair of speakers.

We’re proud to welcome Cyrus Audio into the Roon family with the release of their first Roon Tested devices, the Pre-XR, i7-XR, and i9-XR.

Heralding as the 17th device from exaSound to join the Roon family, the s82 is a streaming DAC with a stylish enclosure and the high-end Sabre ES9038PRO DAC from ESS inside. 

The s82 offers a wide range of file and resolution support (all the way up to PCM 32/384 and DSD512) with output handled by a dual-mono output stage and a fully balanced internal design – ensuring low distortion sonic output no matter the source. With an inputs list that includes Network via LAN, USB, SPDIF Coaxial, Optical, and even USB storage, you won’t be wanting for any capabilities from this streaming DAC.

Hegel H120 and H190

We’re thrilled to announce the Hegel H120 and H190 integrated amplifiers to the Roon Ready family. 

Each featuring their own, fine-tuned versions of Hegel’s SoundEngine2 error canceling amplifier, these amps preserve the details and dynamic range of the original music signal while minimizing distortion on playback. That nuanced musical touch also packs a punch, with the H120 offering 75 watts per channel and the H190 offering 150 watts per channel on tap. Inputs include Roon Ready or AirPlay via LAN, balanced and unbalanced analog, optical, coaxial and USB, alongside Control4 integration.

iFi Audio Zen Stream

iFi Audio have added their seventh device to the Roon family with the Zen Stream, but it is also their very first Roon Ready device! 

The iFi Zen Stream brings clean, simple Hi-Res streaming to just about any listening setup, bringing new life to the speakers or headphones you know and love. Featuring support for TIDAL streaming in addition to Roon Ready streaming (via LAN or WiFi), you’ll be able to connect the Zen Stream to your system via USB or coaxial SPDIF ports.

McIntosh MA8950 and MA9500
Roon Tested

McIntosh is a name that needs no introduction, and we’re excited to announce that the MA8950 and MA9500 have joined the fold as Roon Tested devices. 

These stereo integrated amplifiers feature tried and true preamp and amp designs from McIntosh, and bring some serious power to boot, with the MA8950 flexing 200 watts per channel, and the MA9500 raising its sibling 300 watts per channel. Each amplifier offers a swath of analog inputs (6 unbalanced, phono and also balanced), alongside coaxial, optical, USB and HDMI inputs.

Sonus Faber Omnia

We welcomed our first ever Sonus Faber device to the Roon family last month. 

The Omnia is a certified Roon Ready all-in-one wireless speaker; boasting Sonus Faber’s prestigious heritage in music reproduction, brought into a beautiful frame that can adapt to any environment. 

In addition to its elegant design, the Omnia features the tactile SENSO touch panel on its top for precise control of your music as it plays. The SENSO panel is complimented by a remote as well as Sonus Faber’s own app, making access to the Omnia’s many music playback inputs a breeze. The CRESCENDO technology allows Omnia to produce an immersive three-dimensional soundscape, no matter where it’s placed in a room. 

Omnia features streaming integration for a host of services via Ethernet and WiFi, an HDMI port, and an analog port with MM phono support.

Thrax Audio Maximinus and Enyo

Thrax Audio has released their first devices to the Roon Ready family with the Maximinus and Enyo. 

Enyo heralds as a Roon Ready integrated amplifier, featuring a Thrax designed and built tube amplifier stage with built in auto biasing, guaranteeing both quality performance and ease of use. 

The Enyo is capable of putting out 50W of analog power to any system, with the utmost care and effort poured into each aspect of how the amplifier has been engineered and constructed.

Streaming capabilities are handled via LAN connection (featuring Roon Ready streaming) or Bluetooth, and other inputs include USB, balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA analogue connections, along with an MM and MC phono stage. 

Maximinus features a high-end, in-house designed and custom built R2R ladder DAC with DSD capabilities, bringing the whole package for your digital-to-analog audio conversion needs. 

Thrax has put special effort into designing the output and clock stages of the Maximinus, bringing a fantastic signal-to-noise ratio, low noise floor, and accurate musical timing directly to your ears no matter the source.

Speaking of sources, Maximinus features 6 inputs, including balanced XLR and unbalanced analogue connections, LAN network connectivity for Roon Ready streaming, as well as coaxial, USB, optical and AES/EBU digital inputs.

Waversa WSlim Pro
Roon Ready

The WSlim Pro is Waversa’s 16th device to be added to the Roon family and it is Roon Ready. 

The WSlim Pro is an all-in-one amplifier, designed to be the direct successor to the well received and much loved WSlim Lite. The WSlim’s thin, precision machined case guarantees a very adaptable package that can fit into any set up, large or small.

Engineered for low-latency music playback while simultaneously giving fantastic measured performance, the WSlim Pro offers a breathtakingly low noise floor and stellar signal processing no matter the music source.

Cary Audio DMS-650 and DMS-800
Roon Ready

The Cary Audio DMS-650 and DMS-800 network audio players are both now Roon Ready. 

The redesigned DMS-650 is the entry-point into the DMS platform, and features the AK4497EQ VERITA DAC at its heart. This is Cary’s no compromise, introductory centerpiece full of rich streaming capabilities, and strong digital and analog output compatibility. 

The DMS-800 features a complete dual mono design, with two AK4499EQ current output switched resistor DACs, each paired to separate left and right channel digital and analog boards. Every aspect of the signal path of the DMS-800 is witness to its status as their flagship network audio player.  

Integra DRX 2.4, DRX 3.4 and DRX 5.4

The Integra DRX 2.4, DRX 3.4 and DRX 5.4 channel network AV receivers are all now Roon Tested, taking Integra’s total number of Roon compatible devices to eight. All three devices feature Dolby Atmos and HDMI 2.1.

The DRX 3.4 and DRX 5.4 models implement Dirac Live room correction allowing for perfect sound regardless of your listening space. 

These AVRs are AV swiss army knives that can satisfy any household’s need for movies and music.

We welcomed four new Onkyo devices to the Roon partner family last month. The TX-NR6050, TX-NR6100, TX-NR7100 and TX-RZ50 AV receivers are now Roon Tested and deliver robust, high-current power for your home-theater systems. 

The full model line-up features a plethora of audio and video chops, HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos just to name a few. The TX-NR7100 and the TX-RZ50 can bring even more audio heavy lifting to your system with Dirac Live or AccuEQ room correction.

The Pioneer VSX-LX105, VSX-935, VSX-LX305, VSX-LX505 are the latest AV receivers from Pioneer’s strong line-up of AVRs to become Roon Tested.

The VSX-LX305 Elite and VSX-LX505 Elite each feature DIRAC Live® Room Correction sent out to 9.2 or 11.2 channels respectively. The VSX-LX105 and VSX-935 are designed to make music streaming simple, and inherit many of the cutting edge connectivity of their bigger siblings, such as HDMI 2.1 and Dolby Atmos capability.

The A12MKII integrated amplifier is Rotel’s ninth Roon Tested device. Its sleek design features 60 watts of dynamic class AB amplification output into 8 ohms and a host of digital and analog (including phono) inputs.  

This amp routes digital audio through an audiophile grade, 32-bit, Texas Instruments DAC, and even features a Rotel designed toroidal power transformer inside of its thin and sleek packaging.

We welcomed MiniDSP into the Roon Partner family this month with their first Roon Ready devices, the SHD, SHD Power and SHD Studio.

The SHD has extensive connectivity options with three digital inputs, two analog inputs and USB audio enables the SHD to fit right into any modern audio system.

The SHD Power includes a 120W per channel low-distortion power amplifier for powering your main speakers, and two additional analog outputs for connecting a subwoofer or subwoofers.

TEAC UD-701N, NT-505-X

The TEAC UD-701N and the NT-505-X are the latest additions to join the Roon family.

The UD-701N is a new USB DAC/Network Player with a high-current headphone amplifier and full analog pre-amplifier functionality. It features their newly-developed TEAC ΔΣ (Delta Sigma) discrete FPGA DAC which implements state-of-the-art engineering and conversion algorithms.  It’s a versatile all-round unit that matches new listening styles for a new era.

The NT-505-X is a USB DAC and network player featuring dual ES9038 Q2M DACs in order to achieve the highest levels of signal-to-noise. Its headphone amplifier uses TEAC-HCLD 2 analog output circuits to ensure high current output capacity in all scenarios.

Roon partners win big at the What Hi-Fi? Awards 2021

The 39th edition of the What Hi-Fi? Awards took place on November 4th which saw 21 Roon Ready and Roon Tested products win across 11 different categories.

T+A Elektroakustik added their 15th device to the Roon family with the MP 200. The MP 200 is a multi source player,  combining a compact design matched with the other Series 200 components with a flexible array of inputs including streaming and CD playback.

The latest Astell&Kern digital audio player to become Roon Ready is the SE200. Featuring interchangeable DAC modules from the A&futura series, the SE200 is Astell&Kern’s seventh Roon-compatible device.

Mètronome DSC
Roon Ready

Mètronome’s DSC is their third Roon Ready certified device.

DSC is Métronome’s first ‘three-in-one’ device: a top converter, streamer, and digital preamplifier all within a chassis machined from high-grade billets of aluminium.

Mission LX CONNECT

Joining our family of audio partners this month is British loudspeaker pioneers, Mission. Founded in 1977, Mission was immediately recognised as one of the leaders in the development of acoustic engineering.

Fast forward to today and Mission is still innovating. The new LX CONNECT, which is Roon Tested, is Mission’s first all-in-one hi-fi system. The LX CONNECT consists of a compact hub with an OLED display, plus a pair of 60W active wireless speakers based on their LX-2 Mk II which have been specially engineered with high-power digital amplification modules.

Zidoo Z10 Pro and Z1000 Pro

Since joining our family of audio partners, Zidoo has launched three devices. Joining our list of compatible audio devices in September was the Z10 Pro and Z1000 Pro which are both Roon Ready. 

The Z10 Pro and Z1000 Pro are both high performance 4K media players combining Dolby Vision enhanced video playback with high-resolution music playback.

What does it mean to be Roon Ready?

Roon Ready network devices have Roon’s streaming technology built in, and are certified by Roon Labs to provide the highest level of quality and performance in network streaming.

What does it mean to be Roon Tested?

Roon Tested devices work over USB, HDMI, AirPlay, Google Cast, and other protocols. They have been profiled by the Roon team to ensure simple setup and effortless daily use.

Joining the Roon family in August, Argon Audio are a Danish hi-fi specialist with almost 20 years of heritage. Their mission is to bring their customers affordable high-quality audio solutions, which is something they achieved extremely well with the SOLO.  The SOLO is an easy-to-use network streamer, boasting an array of features including Roon Ready. The latest Astell&Kern DAP to become Roon Ready is the SE180. Featuring an interchangeable all-in-one module from the A&futura series, the SE180 offers a fun new experience while on the move. Astell&Kern now have six Roon-compatible devices.

Roon Ready

Matrix added the X-Sabre 3 to their line-up of Roon Ready devices this month. The X-Sabre 3 is housed in a brand-new chassis and features a refreshed user interface and vastly improved sonic capabilities.

Soundaware A1, A1Pro and A300

We welcomed three new Roon Ready devices from Soundaware this month. The A300, A1, and A1Pro are all powered by SOUNDAWARE’s FPGA processing and capable of streaming up to 384kHz PCM and DSD256. Upgrade to the A1Pro for SOUNDAWARE’s state of the art power supply and DC filtering technology.

Joining our family of audio partners this month is Silent Angel. Founded in 2014, Silent Angel develops high-end audio products including streamers, network switches, and more. The Munich M1 is a flexible Roon Ready device featuring a built-in DAC, a high-quality headphone output, and coaxial S/PDIF and I2S connections.

Zidoo Z9X
Roon Ready

Zidoo was founded in 2014, developing high-end media players, network streamers, and DACs. Joining our list of compatible partners this month, the Zidoo Z9X is now Roon Ready.  

The Z9X is a swiss army knife 4K UHD media player that can satisfy audiophiles and videophiles alike. It can Roon Ready streaming your existing DAC or receiver via its HDMI, Optical, or USB outputs or one can take advantage of its built-in 3.5mm AUX output to easily add a zone to your Roon setup.
