ARC folder browsing means more listening choices

One of Roon’s many strengths is the myriad ways it makes perusing music effortless. You can trace previously unknown connections between albums with links, Favorite new artist additions in your library, use Focus to drill to discographies’ core, and now—let old-school folder browsing take you straight to the heart of your personal filing system from your phone.

Simply click the Library icon in ARC to locate the new Folders tab. From there, ARC’s Folder Browsing is just as intuitive and straightforward as Roon’s but simplified for mobile use.

Favorited folders are located at the top of the page, followed by top-level storage locations below. You can quickly spin everything in a folder by selecting the location of your choice and pressing Play Now to hear all the tracks in that folder or any subfolders inside it. You can also use the Sorting options inside folders to display your music however you like: by album name, album artist, format, release date, last played, and more!

Folders even contain album art thumbnails for instant recognition of harder-to-find content. Listeners with highly eclectic collections of DJ sets and tape-transferred bootlegs (hey now, Deadheads) can now find and play that music quickly. Tracks within folders contain associated file names, format, and dynamic range details. At the same time, the three-dot menu delivers all the additional options you’re familiar with and expect.

Conclusion

Adding folder browsing to ARC marks another step towards making it more user-friendly for all our customers. It rapidly accommodates another of your requests and transplants a highly celebrated Roon feature to our on-the-go app. It lets you explore your most unique music content in an easy, intuitive way that’s simplified for your phone.
