Introducing OPRA: a community-driven headphone EQ repository on GitHub

To everyone in the audio community,

We know many audio enthusiasts love their headphones and often experiment with EQ. But the current process can be complex, fragmented, and costly, which can dampen the fun. As fellow headphone enthusiasts, we recognized this gap and decided to create a solid foundation for everyone who enjoys great audio.

Introducing OPRA (Open Profiles for Revealing Audio): a community-driven repository of headphone EQ profiles designed for all—from experts to the curious. This organized, format-consistent resource provides an accessible space for headphone enthusiasts to gather, explore, and contribute. We’re already exploring collaborations with key figures like oratory1990 and will share more on that soon.

OPRA aims to simplify unlocking the full potential of your headphones, regardless of experience, software, or gear cost. Our open dataset covers manufacturer, product, and EQ details, making it easy for you—and even Roon’s competitors—to use and benefit from community-driven audio expertise.

Many of you have asked for EQ advice and presets. OPRA is here to support everyone, from seasoned pros contributing detailed EQ curves to newcomers exploring sound optimization. This project makes high-quality audio adjustments accessible to all, helping you get the best sound from your headphones.

We’re excited about the potential of OPRA to remove barriers and bring better sound to everyone. Follow this link to dive into OPRA now. Here’s to great sound!

As always, we thank you for reading and being part of the Roon community!
