What better way to kick off the new year than with our biggest update yet?
Version 1.6 introduces the brand new Roon Radio, integration with the Qobuz music service, and an improved user experience across several areas of the application.
There was no better way to finish off 2018 than with 6 more Roon Ready and Roon Tested devices! Part two of December’s Roon partner update included offerings from Cary Audio, JBL, Mark Levinson, Mytek, and Mutec.

December has been the busiest month for Roon partnerships to date, with 7 brands introducing 15 new Roon Ready and Roon Tested devices just in time for the holiday season. These devices seamlessly integrate with Roon, and are guaranteed to provide the highest standard of user experience and audio quality.
Roon now streams to any Chromecast device! This includes the Google Home family of smart speakers, Chromecast and Chromecast Audio receivers, and a wide range of third party products. In addition to Roon Ready, AirPlay, Sonos, Linn, Devialet AIR, Squeezebox, and other network audio products, this new features boosts the number of Roon-compatible devices into the thousands.
We’re very pleased to announce our fifth major software update: Roon 1.5. In the four months since we released 1.4, we’ve launched our first hardware products (Nucleus and Nucleus+) and introduced home automation support with Crestron and Control4 modules. As the Roon team continues to grow, the pace of our releases is increasing so we can bring more features to our members more frequently.
We’ve been asked this question about a million times since we announced Nucleus – our first hardware product – last year, so we’ve put together a comprehensive white paper that discusses the concept behind the product, the design decisions that were made during the development process, and the nitty-gritty of the hardware and software technologies we ended up using. This post is an overview of some of that information; if you want the whole story, go read the paper!
Heading into the holiday season and the new year, the team at Roon Labs has been busy preparing a great bunch of features for our 1.4 release.
We’re grateful for the support of our users and the partners that have helped us get the Roon name out there over the past year. Happy holidays!
With the holidays around the corner and gift-giving on people’s minds, we have another exciting mix of partner announcements to treat your friends, your family, or yourself. Whether you’re looking for an all-in-one streamer, a table radio, active speakers, or a Raspberry Pi hat, our partners have something for you this month.
One of the great features of the Roon Ready program is the diversity of product functions, features, and prices that are represented in the range of available devices from our partners.
From $50 Raspberry Pi hats to $50,000 DACs, table radios to headphone amplifiers, and soundbars to multi-room amps, you can find almost any kind of audio product you need in the Roon Ready family.
Audeze makes headphones that sound spectacular, there’s no disputing that.
And with their meticulously tuned designs, innovative materials, and breakthrough engineering, they have established time and again that they want to push head-fi to its limits.
Fresh off of Roon’s recently released DSP engine, Audeze reached out to us to see what could be done to push their auditory experience even further. The result is a set of carefully designed DSP Presets, seamlessly integrated into Roon.
